Rabbit Boarding

Board your small furries with us

Facilities available

Rabbits are housed in quality hutches and have 24/7 access to a 6 foot (1.8m) run with toys to throw around, nibble and boxes to hop in and out of. Litter trays are provided with hay in as rabbits love to munch while toileting!

Each hutch is spot cleaned daily and disinfected between guests with a vet grade disinfectant. We do not house rabbits on grass as it is impossible to disinfect grass between guests. However some breeds especially Rexes cannot be housed on hard surfaces due to lack of fur on their hocks so we ensure that they are accommodated on a easily cleaned but soft surface.

Our garden is secure, with predator proof fencing. Although we have never had issues with predators we are not going to take any risks with our guests and for extra peace of mind CCTV is also focused on the runs and entry points to the garden.

We have limited space for house rabbits. They are not caged but allowed freedom to hop and binky and to have the daily human contact that they are used to.

Care

Creature Comforts are proud to be members of the Rabbit Welfare Association and the British Association of Vet Nurses (BVNA).

Rabbits are very sensitive animals and we realise that they need to be handled with great care and that they have very exacting requirements. Diet and behaviour is very important and their behaviour is observed on a daily basis to ensure that ‘Bertie Bunny’ is happy and healthy. They also receive twice daily top to tail checks to ensure that ears, eyes and bottoms are clean and that there is nothing of concern. If we find any problems you are contacted and then bunny is taken to your vet or to our own excellent vet Brightside in Swadlincote.

Medication can be given if required and has been prescribed by a vet, either before bunny comes to stay or while under our care. We are able to give injections, orally medicate your rabbit and to apply any topical treatment.

Grooming, nail clips and topical fly and biting insects spray is complimentary for our boarders.

Feeding

We feed Burgess Excel but if Bunny is given a different dry food at home we suggest that you bring some with you in order to protect his tummy. If bunny is used to it then we offer a daily vegetable and herb salad for his tea and of course unlimited fresh meadow hay of horse quality.

Details & Charges

Rabbits must be vaccinated rabbits and boosters need to be up to date and evidence provided on arrival. This is to protect the other rabbits in our care. One rabbit is £5 a day and two rabbits sharing a hutch & run is £6 a day. This includes all hay, veggies, Excel dry food and of course daily checks and cuddles.

We are based in a village near Swadlincote and Burton-on-Trent which is easily accessible from the A38 and M42.
